Terms of Service

These terms cover Wand’s website, Mac app, and connection service. Wand is operated by Thabhelo Duve. “We” means Wand’s operator; “you” means the person using Wand. By using Wand, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What Wand does

Wand connects your devices so a supported assistant can request actions on them. The controls available to you depend on your device, its permissions, and which connections are enabled. Descriptions of planned features do not promise that those features are available.

Your account and devices

Only connect devices you own or have permission to control. Keep your sign-in account and device credentials secure. You must be legally able to agree to these terms, or have a parent or guardian who agrees and supervises your use.

Signing in with Google or Facebook does not by itself authorize an assistant to control your Mac. Connecting an assistant is a separate permission step. Review the devices and actions you allow, and disconnect access you no longer need.

Remote actions

Remote commands can interrupt work, close apps or windows, change device settings, or run an approved Shortcut. Save your work and check what you are asking before sending a command. An assistant can misunderstand a request, and confirmation prompts do not eliminate that risk.

Only allow Shortcuts whose contents you understand and trust. A Shortcut can run code or perform other actions beyond Wand’s built-in controls. You are responsible for choosing which Shortcuts to approve.

A command may fail if your Mac is offline, asleep, disconnected, or missing permissions. Do not rely on Wand for emergencies, personal safety, or as your only way to secure a device. An acknowledgement that a command was sent is not proof that it succeeded.

Use Wand responsibly

Do not use Wand to access someone else’s device without permission, monitor people without their consent, steal information, disrupt services, distribute malware, or break the law. Do not bypass access controls, misuse credentials, or interfere with the service. Report suspected security problems to thabheloduve@gmail.com.

Your data

Our privacy policy explains what Wand stores and how to delete it. The relay processes command contents to deliver them; those contents are not currently end-to-end encrypted. Your Mac’s local log can contain full command parameters. You retain ownership of your data and give us permission to process it only as needed to provide, secure, and maintain Wand as described in that policy.

Other services

Google, Facebook, Muse, Apple, and other services you choose have their own terms and availability. Connecting them to Wand does not transfer your account ownership or make us responsible for their services.

Software and availability

You may use the Wand app as part of the service, subject to these terms and any separate license supplied with it. Third-party and open-source components keep their own licenses.

We may update, change, or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted access, support for every Mac or assistant, or successful execution of every command. Where the law allows, Wand is provided “as is” and “as available,” without additional warranties.

Stopping use

You can stop using Wand, disconnect an assistant or Mac, or delete your Wand service data. Deleting Wand data does not delete your Google or Facebook account or local files on your Mac. If you disconnect while your Mac is offline, complete any pending server-side revocation through the dashboard.

We may restrict access when needed to address misuse, a security issue, or a legal requirement. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the restriction and how to contact us about it.

Responsibility and your rights

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from use of Wand, including losses caused by interrupted work or unavailable connections. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot legally be excluded, or limits your mandatory consumer rights.

Changes to these terms

We will post revised terms here with a new update date. For material changes affecting account users, we will provide notice through the service or their available contact email before the changes take effect. Changes will not apply retroactively. You can stop using Wand if you do not accept them.
